Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of therapy do you offer?

I offer trauma-informed, integrative therapy rooted in Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic approaches, narrative therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP).

My work is also informed by depth psychology, archetypal frameworks, and mindfulness-based practices. Each session is tailored to your needs, blending evidence-based techniques with creative and soulful approaches to support healing, growth, and reconnection.

What kinds of issues do you support?

I specialize in working with trauma, anxiety, grief, spiritual emergence, life transitions, perfectionism, and highly sensitive people (HSPs). I also offer psychedelic integration therapy for clients exploring or reflecting on altered states and transformational experiences.

Do you offer therapy in person or online?

I offer both in-person sessions in Edmonton and secure online sessions across Alberta. Whether you prefer the grounded presence of an office or the flexibility of working from home, we’ll find the format that works best for you.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll explore what’s bringing you to therapy, your goals, and what you hope to experience in our work together. I’ll also share more about how I work, we’ll practice some experiential techniques, and make space for any questions. There’s no pressure to commit—we’ll simply see if it feels like a good fit.

How long does therapy take?

This varies depending on your goals, readiness, and what life brings. Some clients come for short-term support (6–12 sessions), while others engage in longer-term, depth-oriented work. You’re never locked in—we’ll check in regularly to ensure therapy continues to feel useful and supportive.

What are your fees, and do you offer a sliding scale?

My standard fee is $220 per 50-minute session. I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots based on financial need. Please don’t hesitate to ask—I believe therapy should be accessible and will do my best to work with your circumstances.

Are your services covered by insurance?

Yes, many extended health plans cover therapy with a Registered Provisional Psychologist. I provide official receipts for reimbursement, and direct billing may be available for certain plans. It’s a good idea to check with your provider about what’s covered.

What is somatic therapy?

Somatic therapy supports healing by working with the nervous system and body-based patterns. It helps you tune into physical sensations, release stored tension, and regulate emotions from the inside out. I integrate methods like Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Polyvagal Theory in a gentle, personalized way. You can read more about it here.

What is parts work (IFS), and how can it help me?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a transformative approach that helps you connect with the different “parts” of your inner world—like the inner critic, the anxious part, or the part that wants to shut down. By meeting these parts with curiosity and compassion, we can reduce inner conflict and increase self-leadership, clarity, and confidence. You can read more about it here.

Do you use astrology or tarot in therapy?

Astrology and tarot are not clinical interventions, but I offer them as optional, symbolic tools for self-reflection—particularly for clients who value intuitive, archetypal, or spiritual frameworks. Archetypal astrology can help us explore themes of growth, timing, and inner conflict through a mythic lens. Tarot may be used in creative or narrative exercises as a form of guided reflection. These are always offered ethically, consent-based, and client-led. You can read more about it here.

What if I’m nervous or not sure if therapy is right for me?

That’s completely okay. It’s normal to feel uncertain or vulnerable when considering therapy. You're welcome to book a free 15-minute consultation to ask questions, get a feel for the space, and see if it feels like a fit—no pressure, just a conversation.
